Board Foot is a unit of measure one foot long, one foot wide, and one
inch thick or its
equivalent.
Kiln Dried is the process of taking moisture out of boards thus effecting
stability. Hardwoods are nomally dried to 7-9% moisture content.
How to Figure Board Feet
For 4/4 use the following: Width (inches) x Length (feet) divide by 12
For 5/4 use the following: Width (inches) x Length (feet) divide by 9.5
For 6/4 use the following: Width (inches) x Length (feet) divide by 8
For 8/4 use the following: Width (inches) x Length (feet) divide by 6
